Parents, visitors, students, alumni...welcome to our website! Rivendell School, as many of you know, offers an exceptional education for children in grades K-8, with an emphasis on developing healthy and "whole" relationships with God, others, the Creation, and self. As you journey through our website, you will find that our Relational Model of educating is reflected in our Distinctives, our "Rivendell Road" curriculum, various Rivendell writings, our handbook, and our weekly Rivendell Review postings. This intentionality in how we think about educating, and how we communicate about it parallels our daily commitment at Rivendell to live out what "whole" relationships look like and to ensure that our students are known, loved, safe, and inspired by a curriculum that reflects the complete integrity of God's creation.
"Rivendell...always a bit more to discover, and no knowing what you'll find around the corner..."
Shakespeare, Shakespeare, and MORE Shakespeare!
This Friday, March 7th, the entire school will spend the day celebrating William Shakespeare's life and a few of his plays. We begin at 9 a.m. in the chapel with the Kindergarten presentation of “The Life and Times of William Shakespeare." This historical and dramatic presentation will set the stage for the day and will be interspersed with quotes from his many works. First Grade follows at 9:45 in Founder's Hall with "Macbeth." Join us for Elizabethan activities which will be held around the school between 10:15 and 12:40. We'll take a break from 11:00 to 11:30 for the Form 2 performance of “Romeo and Juliet” in the gym. All students, friends, visitors, parents, siblings and teachers are welcome to join us for lunch and recess around 11:40.
At 12:45, join us in the Chapel for the Sixth Grade performance of “Julius Caesar” and then catch the 2:00 Third Form performance of “The Merchant of Venice” to wrap up our day.
